‘LA Weight Loss’ to return up to $ 800,000 to customers 0

LA Weight LossThe Washington state Attorney General’s Office has reached a settlement with three weight-loss companies (LA Weight Loss Centers Inc., LA Weight Loss Franchise Co. and NWM Inc.) accused of luring customers with low-price deals and then pushing additional food and costly, unproven supplements to increase the membership price. Apparently, all these three organizations belong to a common umbrella.

“Weight loss programs and health clubs have an ethical and legal obligation to adequately disclose details about program costs before customers sign a contract,” Attorney General Rob McKenna said in a statement released Friday. “They should also clearly explain how the program works and what is expected so that consumers can make an informed choice whether to join.”

The companies will have to reimburse customers up to $800,000. Also, they will pay $75,000 in legal fees and an undecided amount for consumer education.

Ok here is an update. The new e-soft Firewall is working excellent. I’ve had zero downtime. I have decided to start carrying this line of firewall. So please feel free to call me and ask about the e-soft firewalls and content management systems.

As some of you might have known, I have taken on the Lenovo Dealership. This dealership is for the Desktop, Laptop, and Monitors. If you’re in the market for a Lenovo pick up the phone and give JB Computers a call, today. I’m hoping it will help me take my businesses to the next level.

Last week was a great week of people asking about getting a website. I’m in the process of a redesign of jbcomp.com. I’m also always busy with Iowa Sports Weekly’s website. I have two new websites that I’m going to start work on shortly. Mystic Computer, this will be my custom computer website (it will also showcase Lenovo) and Fieldtrip. This is a new show that the people at Dashboard Productions are taking on. The website is just an informational one now @ iwantafieldtrip.com. There is also a chance for two more website to join the fun. If these other two website are ordered I will be in the market for a part time web design/web programmer.

RCOM SLAPS LEGAL NOTICE ON DOT 0

Reliance Communications (RCOM) has slapped a legal notice on the Department Of Telecom (DOT) over its decision to endorse TRAI’s subscriber-linked spectrum allocation norms.Reliance Communications has said that DOT must go by the Telecom Engineering Cell’s (TEC) report on the issue.

While TRAI had proposed that telcos increase their subscriber base 2-6 times before existing telcos get additional spectrum, the Telecom Engineering Cell’s (TEC) had suggested that GSM players increase their base between 4-15 times before they are given additional frequencies.

The legal notice given by RCOM asks DOT to freeze allocation of additional spectrum to existing GSM operators in excess of the licence mandated amount of 4.4/6.2 MHz as it arbituary, illegal and in violation of the licence agreement. And to enforce TEC recomended subscriber criteria which was accepted in principle by the DOT in October,2007.And to ensure immediate return of over 50 MHz excess spectrum being hoarded by GSM operators, free of cost and beyond their entitlement of 6.2 MHz.And to ensure refarming of 900 MHz spectrum being held by GSM operators. And finally levy additional spectrum fee, until excess spectrum of 50 MHz is returned by GSM operators.

The Association of Unified Service Providers of India, the body representing CDMA operators said that rejecting the TEC norms and accepting TRAI norms is arbitrary and the decision seems to have been taken under pressure. The government’s decision to accept the TRAI report was contrary to DOT’s earlier decision where it accepted the TEC report.

COAI said that as the Government had accepted TRAI’s norms on 26 December,2007, all pending applications for additional spectrum before this date should be considered under the earlier policy.
